As a Jersey girl, one of my guilty pleasures is going to Atlantic City for a night out. Though I must admit that I prefer Vegas, Atlantic City is a much shorter ride for me to get my gambling fix.
Earlier in the month, I posted about some pretty nice M Life perks in Vegas for Platinum and higher. A few days ago I got an email that made my day:
Gold, Platinum and NOIR M life members can receive now Black Label status at Borgata!
BLACK LABEL BENEFITS:
• Earn SLOT DOLLARS® rewards based on slot play
• Earn Comp Dollars based on play
• BANK Comp Dollars for future use
• Combine Comp Dollars with friends and family
• FREE self and valet parking
• Access to Amphora Lounge for $10 Comp Dollars for you and a guest
• Borgata Buffet for $10 Comp Dollars for you and a guest
• 10% discount on merchandise at Borgata Collection
• Priority lines at Check-In and at My Borgata Center
• Priority reservations in restaurants

• Priority access to guest rooms and suites
In addition, new members will receive the following rewards*
when upgraded to Black Label status:
• $100 BONUS SLOT DOLLARS or Match Play
• Complimentary Stay in a Classic Room

Most of us in the points and miles world have either M Life Platinum or Gold status acquired through a status match with Hyatt. With that being said, just having the Hyatt credit card gets you Platinum status by default.

Of course I am most excited about the free-night benefits, but all of the perks of Black Label are pretty impressive. I’m thinking we need a Borgata meet up one of these days. Who’s in?

Thanks for the tip! My Hyatt Diamond status expires Feb 2016. When would be the best time to status match to M Life Platinum in order to maximize the amount of time that I’ll have elite status with M Life? Is there any advantage to waiting until early Feb 2016 to match vs. doing so by Dec 2015?

If I were in NJ I would love an AC meetup!
Duffman says
nice! I do have MLife status (via Hyatt of course) but never picked up my card.
Can the match be done online or does it need to be in person? Any thoughts on how they would do it if I don’t have a MLife card?
Thanks!

Hey, first time reader! I love the Borgata and try going a few times a year. Ok, more like 6 or 7. With that being said, how long do you maintain Black Label using this method? A year? Or indefinitely? Thanks!
Angelina Aucello says
Thanks for stopping by! You would get the black label status for a year from the day you matched.
Nes says
Great, thx. I’m assuming the easiest way to accomplish this is to get Hyatt card, then MLife, then Black Label, correct? Do you have an affiliate link for the Hyatt card so I can show some support?
Angelina Aucello says
Thanks so much for thinking of me, but I don’t have an affiliate link. And yes, the Hyatt card will make you Platinum and then you can match!
Mark D. says
After the year could you status match again for another year, or is it a 1 time thing?

Hyatt -Mlife – Black Label status match data points – You cannot status from Hyatt to Mlife on-line anymore. You must call Mlife and give them your Hyatt & Mlife member number. They say it takes 7 to 10 days for the match. After 10 days, my Wife still wasn’t matched. We called /Mlife and they can call Hyatt directly while you are on the phone. She was matched immediately. Mlife will not send you a card. You must go to an Mlife hotel to get a card.
The Wife and I did not have a card when we went to the Borgata on Sat. 8/13/16. They accepted me logging into our Mlife accounts and showing our status w/ no issues. Wife is Mlife gold & I’m Platinum. We were both matched to Borgata Black Label and received our member cards on the spot. A promo load of $100 went on each of our cards. We had the choice of slots or match play. We both choose slots and were able to cash out a total of $175 in winnings. We also each received $20 comp dollars on our cards. Black label members get the buffet for $10 so we could use the comp $’s for 4 buffet meals. When you park, you pay when you leave. That meant we did not pay for parking due to Black Label members get free parking. We also each received one (1) free stay any day of the week. We tried to book Fri. & Sat. 8/19 & 8/20 but they didn’t have rooms available. If we had gambled a lot, we probably would have gotten the reservations. You can check on-line @ the Borgata for room availability using your free night we were told or call.
