I’m a huge hypocrite – but it makes sense, I promise!
Last week, I blogged about how I was sitting out on this year’s Daily Getaways Deals. Ironically enough, I was having a hard time finding a hotel for an overnight connection at LAX.
Maybe it had something to do with Kobe Bryant, but room rates last night were astronomical and free nights/points stays were nonexistent.
Then the Wyndham sale happened. For $150, I could buy 15,000 Wyndham points to use at any property in the Wyndham Rewards portfolio.Wyndham properties are rarely on my mind, but when the program revamped for the better last year,  the program remained on my distant radar.
With just 15,000 points, members can redeem a free night at any of the program’s more than 7,500 hotels globally with no blackout dates.
The no blackout dates perk saved me.
Granted Wyndham properties aren’t exactly my preferred chain, $150 all in for a decent airport hotel property sure beats most rates I found by $75 (not including taxes and fees!).
Have you ever found an unexpected use of a deal or points that you had no intentions to consider?

How long did the points take to post?

It said 10 days but it was in my account within 36 hours.
