Earn 1,500 La Quinta Returns Points by Enrolling in Redeem Away!

December 21, 2016 by Angelina Aucello Leave a Comment

La Quinta just rolled out a new benefit that gives La Quinta Returns members an easy way to redeem their La Quinta Returns points on qualifying purchases  at over 1 million U.S. retail and online locations (restaurants, drugstores, and more) with a tap on your mobile phone and an eligible linked Visa credit card.

As a bonus, you can get 1,500 points* when you link your Visa credit card and your mobile number to your Returns™ account, now until 12/31/16. 1,500 points equates to the value of a cup of coffee at most locations.

How It Works

  • First, you must link an eligible Visa credit card and mobile phone number to your La Quinta Returns account.
  • Then after you make a qualifying in-store or online purchase with the linked Visa credit card, a text notification is immediately sent to you, inviting you to redeem points for that purchase.
  • By responding “yes,†points are deducted from your La Quinta Returns account and a credit for the purchase amount is received on the linked Visa credit card statement in approximately 10 days.

La Quinta Returns points can be redeemed for qualifying purchases at more than 1 million U.S. retail and online locations* in the following categories:

  • Fast food and casual dining restaurants
  • Bookstores
  • Grocery stores and drugstores
  • Club and discount stores

My Thoughts

The timing seems to be perfect because I have an odd number of La Quinta points left that are soon to be expiring (far from the amount required for a free night) that I’ve gathered from an array of previous promotions.

While I normally don’t recommend redeeming airline miles, hotel points, or credit card rewards on merchandise and every-day purchases, this may be a good way to cash out your La Quinta Rewards points before they expire or if you have no intention to ever stay at a La Quinta property on points.

…and at the very least 1,500 free points from enrollment gets you a free cup of coffee!
