1,000 Free Virgin America Elevate Points

March 22, 2012 by Angelina Aucello 12 Comments

You can earn 1,000 free Virgin America Elevate points simply by logging into their Facebook app and creating a “yearbook page” with them. As of now, I have yet to fly or use Virgin America Elevate points, but it was hard to pass up 1,000 free points for 2 minutes of my time. In addition to the 1,000 free miles, you can enter to be one of 20 winners of 100,000 Elevate points.

EDIT: If you don’t have an immediate need for those 1000 Elevate points, do know that you can exchange 1000 Elevate points for 439 United or AA miles on www.points.com (HT: DAD!). Do know that a minimum of 2,000 points is required per transaction though.

Here’s my “yearbook page” below:

Hi, I just went to facebook (I’m not too familiar with FB so hopefully I’m doing this right) but do you have to be new to Virgin Elevate in order to get the 1,000 points? That’s what it looks like to me but I’m not sure. Thanks!

Hi Chris, you do not need to be a new member. I had an existing account and in the end it said my points would be credited in 4-6 weeks. You just have to register with the same email address that your elevate account is registered with. :)

    The exchange is awesome,
Can you exchange with “your friends”?
Then you can double or triple the bonus

@Duc: Unfortunately you can only do the exchange between your own accounts. To transfer to a friend or another account that is not your own, that is considered “sharing” miles on points.com, and that comes with a hefty ~$40 fee.

@Angelina–that’s not completely true. As long as you register two FF accounts under the same points.com account, you should have no trouble.

Last year when we got the free 1000 frontier points and we needed 1001 minimum to do an exchange into USair grand slam hit ..I was able to transfer 3 aa miles to get 1 frontier mile, and then I was able to transfer to UsAir,..However, the exchange to get an additional 1000 elevate miles from aa and ua on points.com is terrible.
One can earn 1000 points by going to the following shopping portal link:
http://www.virginamerica.com/frequent-flyer/elevate-shopping.html.It is also an american express transfer partner and 200 amex rewards=1000 elevate points. You do the numbers to see if it makes sense 4 you…

Let’s hope we can do something with these miles, and possibly get a gran d slam transfer hit.
