Apparently this is only available to previously unregistered customers of the Advantage Shopping website.

    Not sure about that…

I was previously registered (have made purchases through the AAdvantage mall before with online retailers) and was just able to register for this local version as well. Entered my card information and was taken right to the search screen for local businesses.

Word of warning: the AAdvantage Shopping Mall is NOT affiliated with AA. They just contract to use the name. If you deal with them, and have problems, which you WILL, American will disavow any responsibilty for them. I was due mileage from a purchase thru them, and sent over a dozen emails about it. Note: this is NO phone number for them. Finally, I got a return email that promised to put the miles in my AA account “within 15 business days”. When that hadn’t happened after a month, I started sending emails again. I sent over 20 emails over a period of 3 months, and got no answer whatsoever. Finally I just gave up. If you deal with these scam artists, good luck getting your mileage….
