Happy Sunday everybody! Like many, I surely did have an eventful Sunday.
Picture this: Kevin and I driving on the Garden State Parkway to a family function when a fellow reader/points and miles friend (Hi Jamison!) texts me alerting me of the infamous 4-mile deal on United. I tell Kevin that we need to make an immediate detour to the nearest Starbucks right away for an “emergency”. We frantically type “Starbucks” into Google Maps, and within a matter of minutes, we’re ticketed on yet another awesome itinerary.
While I’m crossing fingers that it works out, I’m not exactly holding my breath on this one. Nevertheless, our “detour” was definitely like a funny scene from a movie.
In case you haven’t taken advantage of these free mile opportunities, here are some reminders:
- Free 500 Aeroplan with Le Club Accor hotels: HT to Duc1986d on MilePoint
- 500 Free Delta Miles with Le Club Accor
- 1,000 Free United miles for registering your Visa to MileagePlus shopping: Thanks again to Duc1986d on MilePoint
- Also, don’t forget that you still have few more hours to tweet @me for a chance to win 2 United Club lounge passes! I’ll be announcing a winner at 9 am tomorrow. The full contest details can be found here.
So, how was everyone elses’ points and miles Sunday? Any interesting stories? (hint – I’m especially interested in hearing other frantic “4-mile” stories).

I hope your actions by taking advantage isnt how you and kevin will teach morals to your future child. And/or karma will kick u in the ass and one day u will get taken advantage of. Good luck to your future.

@Mike: Like I said in the post, I don’t think these will actually go through, it’s clearly a mistake and all of the FF community knows so… just curious how it will pan out. It’s not like I went crazy and booked dozens of tickets for all of my friends and their moms. Thanks for your insight though.

Just as an FYI…for the 500 Skymiles bonus at least…you need at least 4000 points in your accor hotel account to be able to transfer it over to Delta. And you have to stay with them at least once per year with them in order to keep your points.

@Mike There is no value being the sixth blogger to tell people about something. The news about the 4 mile awards to China was all over the blogosphere. Maybe you need to read a few more blogs. Nothing wrong with what Angelian did.
