I apologize for the blog being out of comission recently. Most of you already know that I have been out of town for work during the past few weeks without much access to wifi. If that alone wasn’t frustrating enough, this had to happen, leaving me completely powerless:
The good news is that I snagged a new charger over the weekend; the even better news is that I am back in town and ready to take the points and miles world by storm. Here’s what’s been going on in the points and miles world while I’ve been out of the loop:
$10 Statement Credit With $50 Mall Gift Card Purchase: What a great incentive to go shopping! Deals We Like tells us how to get a $10 statement credit by syncing an American Express card and purchasing a $50 mall gift card through 9/3/2012. A complete list of participating malls can be found here.
$50 Uber credit for $19: Deals We Like also lets us know how to get $50 in Uber credits for $19. So what is Uber? Uber is a car service company that allows you to book transportation in major cities cash-free using an app on your cellphone.
- Sign up for Uber, and be sure to use a referral link from an existing member to get a free $10 credit to start. Here is mine, feel free to post yours in the comments too.
- Sign up for Bloomspot, the deal-a-day-site offering the $40 Uber credit for $40, if you aren’t already a member.
- Buy $40 in Uber credit for $19. When you make your purchase you will receive a code that you enter on Uber’s promotion page.
Free Year of Regus Gold for United Premier MileagePlus members: The Points Guy informs us that you can receive a free 1-year membership ($600 value) to Regus Gold (shared office space usage on the go).
Insane Fare Sale to Tel Aviv: Reader Jamison texted me earlier alerting me of an incredible roundtrip airfare deal from NYC to TLV available for many dates in early 2013 (and even some in the later part of this year). Thanks to him I booked myself a trip to Israel for $329.78 in February. I’m excited!
Travelocity NFB2012 Code Update: If you haven’t heard by now, Travelocity went ahead and canceled all reservations that were made using the $200-off promotional code that I blogged about a few weekends ago. Many (myself included) are disappointed with the outcome, and several people are in the process of filing complaints with the DOT. For those who might be interested further discussing this topic, reader Dan invites you to join the Travelocity NFB2012 fiasco Facebook Group and Facebook Fan Page.
Southwest Rapid Rewards Sign Up Bonus: Southwest launched a new sign-up bonus offer, allowing new members to get a total of 750 free Rapid Rewards miles when signing up for an account.
Free $25 Bonus With $200 Loaded on Prepaid American Express Card: The Prepaid AmEx deal is back! Just by loading $200 onto an American Express prepaid debit card, you’ll receive a free $25 bonus. No credit check required! Full details can be found in my post here.
