I Had the Middle Seat on Yesterday’s Flight and Loved it

September 25, 2012 by Angelina Aucello 24 Comments

I never-ever thought I’d say this, but yesterday I sat in the middle seat (2-3-2 configuration) and loved it! Those of who are under 5’4″ might be able to relate when you see why below… Seriously, why don’t all planes come equipped with this little guy? Bye-bye lower back pain!

P.S. I have a special prize for anyone who can guess what airline and model of plane I was flying based on the picture above. If that’s too easy, brownie points for the person who guesses the route!

Considering it’s evident on the seat back safety card that it’s a JAL 767, that’s probably too easy. :-)

I won’t bother to guess the airline and plane since I think everyone else has that covered. As for having the middle seat, I agree with you that it isn’t as bad as it might sound. I had to sit in a middle seat ORD-LHR on an AA 777 for a business trip booked at the last minute. Before the trip I was dreading it, but once on board I realized I had several advantages. First, the seats to either side of me were still like a middle (no aisle access or window) but had a giant box under the seat in front of them for the AV equipment. Also I got served food and drinks from whichever side got to me first and my garbage also got removed sooner too! Overall if I can’t get an aisle or window I would definitely choose that middle seat.

I think everyone on the board already said that, I am glad you are having fun in Tokyo, and best wishes.

I absolutely loved the foot-stool on my LAX-ICN/ICN-LAX on Asiana! It really made a difference in the long flight.

    Hope you are having fun!

JAL 767, I’m guessing NRT-SGN, that’s the last time I was on that plane.

I apologize for the delay! I am back from Tokyo and all settled in now. Wow, lots of you guessed correctly! Yes, it was JAL 767-300. :)

…since there are so many people who guessed, the winner will be commenter AK who guessed the brownie point question: MNL-NRT.

I’ll send you an email with a code for 6 months free on award wallet!
