According to this FlyerTalk thread, members are reporting that there’s a 30-day trial offer with Great Fun, allowing you to receive 2,000 Wyndham Rewards points for just $1.
At first, I was reluctant to move forward with this offer for a variety of reasons:
- I hate the burden of having to remember to track a trial membership
- Personally, it looked a tad fishy to me
- There was no place to input my Wyndham Rewards membership number
- The landing page stated that the offer was good through 8/26/12
- And lastly, I hate waiting around for points to post
Well the good news is, the commenters on the thread are reporting that the points posted to their accounts in less than 3 days after signing up. Also, I felt more at ease that I was able to use a prepaid AmEx gift card to activate my trial. So I took the plunge and will keep you updated when the points post! Will you participate in this offer too?
Offer T&C: Be sure to claim your 2,000 Wyndham Rewards® Points by replying to the email you’ll receive once you join Great Fun. Your first month of Great Fun rewards and privileges is just $1, with no obligation to continue, and $15.99 every month thereafter. You can call toll free to cancel and will not be billed for any additional months. The 2,000 Wyndham Rewards® Points, are yours to keep. They’ll be automatically added to your Wyndham Rewards® account within 4 to 6 weeks.
So what can you do with Wyndham Rewards points?
- 6,000 points gets you a free night at a tier 1 property
- 8,000 Wyndham points can be transferred into 3,200 airline miles
This offer can be especially helpful if you need a quick an easy way to keep your points active, or if you need to top off your account for an award booking/need an even increment to transfer to airline miles. As always, YMMV! Crossing fingers!

I just want to throw a warning out there to folks – 2 years ago I was charged an astronomical amount out of nowhere on my DEBIT card for $179.99 from an unknown vendor. Turns out the transaction details showed “Great Funs” and it was a huge hassle to get Chase to refund the amount back to be as it was a debit card transaction. I’m consistently diligent with my information security and finances so it was a huge surprise to me that they pushed through such a large unauthorized charge, especially on my DEBIT card which I never used unless it was for ATM withdrawals.
Just a word of caution for those giving this a shot – Google “Great Funs” for some more horror stories.

Be careful when dealing with them–it’s not that your points won’t show up–it’s that they have your card number, and as one poster said, unexpected charges can show up. I used to work for them (until I realized what type of company they were) and their business practices are not what most people would consider ethical. In fact, a class action lawsuit was brought against them in March of this year for the Great Fun club scam:

Make sure that you cancel & that they have indeed cancelled your membership. Check your billing statement for the next year or so to make sure that you are not charged for something you thought was cancelled. In the past, customers have been charged months later & as the poster said above, it can be very difficult to get your money back.
