Now the second half of the post is about upcoming frequent flyer meet ups in New York, Tampa, and the Chicago area. One of my favorite things about the points and miles community is actually talking about travel face-to-face in a social setting with people who “get†this quirky hobby. I’ll be at all 3 – will you be at any of them? If so, I’d love to meet. Here’s what’s going on:
- Tuesday, September 17 in New York: Reach for the Miles Meet Up at Professor Thom’s in the Lower East Side, located at 219 2nd Avenue between 13th and 14th Streets. Meet up starts at 6 pm – join the Reach for the Miles Meetup Group to RSVP and be informed of future events in the NYC area.
- Friday, September 27 to Sunday, September 29 in Tampa: Whether you’re a new or old player in the points and miles game, there’s always room to learn more and meet some pretty amazing people in the process at Frequent Traveler University. I love going to weekend points and miles seminars, and for $100, you can’t beat being in an environment with some of the most influential people in the industry. - Friday, October 11 to Sunday, October 13 in Elks Grove, IL:  This year’s Chicago Seminars that is taking place in Elks Grove, IL during the weekend of October 11-13 appears to be sold out already (but don’t worry you might be able to score a last-minute ticket on this thread). I attended last year and the year before and was blown away with how great it was. I’m sure I’ve said this a thousand times, but this event was the true seed of inspiration for starting this blog, and I highly recommend you attend if you want to be with a group of like-minded individuals who enjoy traveling with points and miles as much of you do. The sessions were extremely informative and fun, and I truly have learned an tremendous amount in such a short period of time. This event is surely not to be missed!
Looking forward to meeting new faces and seeing familiar ones!

Next month, my husband, infant toddler and I are traveling on United to visit relatives in San Francisco. We’re traveling from JFK to SFO. We would LOVE to experience the United Club lounge at JFK. We’ve never been in a lounge and it would be really nice to get a decent breakfast before boarding our flight, and also get something for the baby. Would love to win this giveaway! Love your blog!
I’ll be going to the Chicago Seminars. While I haven’t planned my flight yet, I’ll be in United hubs to get there: LAX, SLC or SFO, and ORD. Would love to be able to read the points and miles blogs on a strong internet line enjoying the view from a UA lounge.
I’ll be headed to ORD out of PHL during thanksgiving for my fiancee’s holiday dinner. Club passes are key backup for me during the holidays because I try to get bumped if the offer is right.

I am flying from IAD to Eugene, OR via SFO, from Oct. 21-23, so I am sure I will be able to use the passes between IAD and SFO.
I’m going to the one in Tampa! I’m so nervous that all the old pros are going to eat me alive. They sure can be mean from what I read on their blog comments! I can’t wait though. Don’t laugh too hard at this question, but what kind of dress is is? Just casual?
As for the passes, I’ll be traveling with my Hubs and THREE boys in October! I would love to passes so I could leave my husband with the kids and disappear inside the lounge where it is quiet and peaceful! ;)
