I Flooded the Bathroom…

September 1, 2014 by Angelina Aucello 9 Comments

This post is dedicated to Greg, who writes Frequent Miler. Yesterday, he challenged me to take the ice bucket challenge. I’m having a hard time adjusting to Asia time as it is, so soaking myself with freezing-cold ice water during the wee-hours of the night seemed like the appropriate thing to do.

I’ve donated $100 to ALS Association, $100 to the Wounded Warrior Project, and I’ll donate $100 to a charity suggestion that’s left in the comments section (will pick on Sept 5).

All I can say though, is thank goodness for a hot bath afterwards.

The Dad, @TheFlightDeal, and reader dhammer53, you’re all up next… you have 24 hours. Tick tock…

I think you should give to water.org or another water charity. I gave Howie a hard time for using up clean water in a part of the world where most doesn’t have access to clean drinking water. Matt Damon actually used toilet water….just sayin ;)

Nice going Angelina! Looks like I raised you right. (Laughing)

I was already challenged, and may I add, cold water feels great on a 90 degree day!

The Ice bucket challenge is becoming outdated believe it or not. The new one is S**t bucket challenge. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=d6c_1409127779

Of course I accept the challenge. But, since I’m technology deficient in the uploading department, I propose Angelina dump cold water on me and The Dad at a time to be arranged. I’ll even go as far as drive to New Jersey to get dunked.

You have my e mail address.

For the record, I’ve been posting whereever possible, a link to Tuesdays With Morrie. It’s a book written by Mitch Albom about his college professor. Morrie died of ALS. http://www.amazon.com/Tuesdays-Morrie-Young-Greatest-Lesson/dp/076790592X

Challenge accepted, Since I’m technology challenged in the uploading department, I propose driving to New Jersey to let The dad or Angelina dump that ice water on me (and record it).

This past month, I’ve posted whereever possible, a link to Tuesdays With Morrie. It’s a book written by Mitch Albom about his old college professor, that died from ALS. The challenge is important. Knowing why you’re taking it is equally important. Info here > http://www.amazon.com/Tuesdays-Morrie-Young-Greatest-Lesson/dp/076790592X

AA, You know how to contact me.

How do we rewlly know it’s you? i’m sure there are a lot of photos of people doing the ice bucket challenge. :) Seriously, thanks for supporting the ALS, and I second dhammer53’s book recommendation.

Thanks as well for supporting other charities. One that is close to me and my family is the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA), whose mission is to find a cure to Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis. You can check out more about this organization at http://www.ccfa.org and donate to your local charity or the one in Pittsburgh that I volunteer for.

    Cheers,
    Brett

Foundation Fighting Blindness would be a good charity to support. They are dedicated to finding cures for blindness such as retinitis pigmentosa and macular degeneration and others. They have a number of promising clinical trials.

Christopher’s Haven is a wonderful charity to support. My neighbor had to use them and it was such a blessing for them and one less thing to worry about. They provide housing to families of children being treated for cancer in Boston.
