Yesterday I briefly touched upon an intriguing way to buy a lot of cereal to get $200 off a United vacation package.
Today I think I may have found the tools of the trade when I came across an upcoming 2-day-only promo with ShopRite where you can earn a $20 grocery voucher after spending $100 in gift cards! (HT: FatWallet).
For 2 days only (11/27 and 28), you can get a voucher for $20 off when you purchase any gift card at ShopRite (excluding ShopRite store gift cards). Gas gift cards, Visa, AmEx, MasterCard, eBay, and other merchant gift cards seem to be eligible!
You can then use the $20 vouchers to buy the speciality-marked Kelloggs boxes to use for the United promo for $200 (while also stacking coupons, I’d assume).
In the past, I have had much success with these types of promos at PathMark and A&P store (blog post). I remember visiting my local supermarkets multiple times a day to take advantage of the “free money” opportunity, and it’s safe to say I saved a lot of money on groceries for a few months.

Will be in Grenada over those dates (11 day Club Carlson points) but here’s a deal that I’ve been using over the last week that is better than a home run. Acme has an on-going promo, I believe since 11/06/15 through 11/19/15. If you buy a Visa or Amex GC over $150, you get a $15 store credit which can be used on your next $25+ order. There is no limit to how many times you get the deal. It can be found in a small box @ the bottom of a page in the circular. It states that variable GC’s are excluded. I tested a $500 variable Visa in a transaction and two $100 Visa combined in a transaction. Neither printed out the coupon so I let the manager know. She said no problem and gave me a $30 Acme GC instead. The 2nd time I did the deal I bought $5K of $500 VGC’s, all in separate transactions. Naturally it didn’t print out the 10 coupons so the manager gave me another Acme GC. This time her math was not right and gave me a $200 Acme GC, or $20 per transaction. Will be going back again tonight for another $5K. Haven’t seen any blogger post this Acme Promo. Even buying two $100 VGC’s is a money maker.

Sounds like a plan. I enjoy eating cereal too. Several weeks ago, I stumbled on a ‘mistake price’ on raisin bran…so stocked up. They were ringing in at .14 a box. Buy 20 boxes and use a $1.00 off coupon, I ended up paying less then $2.00 ‘all in’. I probably should have gotten more but didn’t want to ruin it for others. I did, however, get some interesting looks from others at the check out line.
