Regular readers of my blog know that I am obsessed with deals and surprises, including subscription boxes. There is just something about getting high quality random samples in the mail that excites me.
When I discovered Try the World through a suggested ad in my Facebook newsfeed, the foodie/travel side of me was definitely intrigued! Try the World is a subscription box that’s right up my alley, featuring speciality foods from around the world.
Each monthly box is themed after a different country, allowing you to try popular culinary favorites from all around the world without ever having to leave home (or check bags!). Sadly, I joined right after the Sweden box was released, so I missed a great one, but I did receive July’s France box ironically when I just returned from Paris, which was nice. I’m always antsy to see which country’s box will be next.
Subscription OptionsIf you want a box every month, subscriptions include:
- Monthly – $39
- Pay for 6 Months – $198 (15% discount)
- Pay for 12 Months – $348 (25% discount)
If you would like a box only once every two months, subscriptions include:
- Monthly – $39
- 6 Months (3 boxes) – $105 (10% discount)
- 12 Months (6 boxes) – $198 (15% discount)
Shipping is of course included in the price, and each box comes with recipes and inspiration on how to use/pair the products. You can also pause or cancel your order at any time.
Here’s What Was Inside the France Box:
- Fig Jam ($6.95)
- Persillade Herb Blend ($8.00)
- Assorted Signature Teas ($46.95 retail, but I received a sampler pack containing 3 teas)
- Salted Butter Caramels ($19.95 retail, but the box contained a sampler pack with a handful of caramels)
- Classic French Sauce Sample ($19.95)
- Whole Grain Mustard ($4.95)
- La Mere Poulard Palets ($4.50)
- Chestnut Spread ($10.95)
I feel that $39 is a fair price for what I received in my box. My personal favorite item was the fig jam, and I wasted no time opening it and enjoying it on some sharp cheese I had available. The mustard was also a hit in my household, and I really enjoyed the fruity green “hamman” tea.
I realized that, being the foodie and travel obsessed person I am, I would have totally loved this as a gift! Try the World also has a gifting option that makes it easy and exciting to surprise family and friends (hint: Flyer Talk Secret Santa).

Received Try the World as a gift. Amazed at the quality and variety of items. Do not know the cost as it was a gift. Am debating whether to subscribe or not as I have subscribed to similar offers and have been disappointed.

Ahhhh how do I enter this giveaway contest? I’ve been interested in this company for a while but have been too scared to take the plunge.
