I’ve seen a fair share of silly miles and points related things up for sale on eBay… including, but not limited to airline upgrades labeled as “travel advice” and status matches. Speaking of, at one point there was even “Platinum Status for $100“, showing a MileagePlus card with Mommy Point’s full name on it!
…By the way, all of those examples are violating the airlines’ rules regarding selling upgrades, status benefits, and promotions, so it’s probably not a good idea to consider buying or selling these “perks”  and dealing with a stranger.
Switching gears to a lighter note, IÂ definitely got a kick out of this today for $1.29:
I must say that I give this seller credit for creating some persuasive copy in the item’s description and coming up with a unique way to “recycle” a hotel key from a past stay.
Marriott Hotels Gray Elite Room Keys as a Pair. Not only a great collectible of the hotel rewards era, but also a great item to put in a card and surprise someone special for an upcoming trip. Showing this card at resort spas, pools, etc can also gain you access to exclusive parts of the hotels. See the detailed pictures – and zoom – for more. Multiples available, and combine these with other Marriott-brand hotels to create a package of cards – let me know which brand you need and I’ll see what I can create for you at a very reasonable cost to make your upcoming trip memorable. The Elite Key is something extra special to put in a card for an upcoming trip as it makes the receiver of the card even more excited for the extra benefits being elite can bring you at a Marriott property. Two cards (a pair) are included but more are available.
I can’t disagree about his idea about the surprise element for an upcoming special trip, but I can assure you that you won’t be gaining much in terms of exclusive access.
But now I’m thinking out loud… If you’re worried about losing your elite benefits with Hyatt in 2017, now might be a good time to start looking for some elite Hyatt keys… ;)
Kidding, of course.
What were some other ridiculous items you’ve seen on eBay?

I don’t have anything to add from eBay, but I do keep my hotel keys from Vegas. At a number of strip properties, you only have to flash your room key for access to the pool :-). Comes in handy whether on future trips or hotel-hopping with FHR.

This is hilarious. I’ve been collecting room key cards as long as I can remember and I got a stack of about 200 just of these silver Marriott cards. I would be really interested if anyone actually bites on this!
