Hands down, one of the best things about this hobby are the people in it. There’s nothing more enjoyable than talking miles and points face-to-face in a social setting with people who actually “get†it (on the other hand, some people never will).
As of yesterday, tickets have just started going on sale for my favorite frequent flyer weekend of the year, The Chicago Seminars! The Chicago Seminars is taking place again in Elk Grove, IL during the weekend of October 20-22. The event is capped at 500 people, and has historically sold out in the past. I’ve attended for the past 6 years have always had a blast.
Registration is $105 for the WHOLE weekend and all of the sessions and fun that come with it.
I highly recommend you attend if you want to be with a group of like-minded individuals who enjoy traveling with points and miles as much as you do.
I’ll be speaking again at the Chicago Seminars, along with other great presenters; and let me say that this seems to be one of the best line-ups yet:
- Greg – Frequent Miler
- René – RenésPoints
- John – Laptoptravel
- Nick – Frequent Miler
- Stefan – Rapid Travel Chai
- Dan – Points with a Crew
- Shawn – Miles to Memories
- Richard – Travel Hacking 101
- Lee – BaldThoughtsÂ
- Tiffany – One Mile at a Time
- Dave – Bikeguy on FlyerTalkÂ
- Howie – AwardWallet
- Angelina – Angelina Travels
- Scott – Mile Value
- Eddy
My session is on Saturday, October 21 from 1-2pm about Maximizing Hotel Best Rate Guarantees (hope to see you there!).
My previous sessions have been about Best Rate Guarantees (2014, but a lot has changed over the years), and Sweet Spot Redemptions (2015), Valuable Perks & Gems That No One Really Talks About (2016), and Mythbusters: Miles & Points Edition (2016).
The schedule looks great this year, and I’m looking forward to an amazing weekend together!

Wish I was going, but my husband and I will be in Europe pretty much the entire month of October! Next year I will put it on the list of things to do. Have fun! Love your blog! =)
