Unlimited In flight Wifi for Just $9 a Month

August 21, 2017 by Angelina Aucello 1 Comment

In today’s modern world, staying connected while traveling is essential. As much as I compare flying to “a spa day in the sky”, I’m guilty of always purchasing a wifi pass when I fly.

Sure, staying connected at 35,000 feet can get pricey, but being productive and getting work done not only makes the time fly by, but it also makes me feel less stressed when I land. It’s a double-edged sword, I guess.

Right now, a lot of my “inflight wifi budget” comes from my 10 free annual Gogo passes that I get from my Business Platinum® Card, but it looks like even those may start to be diluted with this new unlimited wifi plan.

A company called US Mobile reached out to me last month, alerting me of a new unlimited inflight wifi plan for only $10 a month. $10 a month is steal for unlimited inflight wifi, and it almost sounded too good to be true. I held off on posting the news because I wanted to try it and love it for myself before recommending it to my readers.

In summary, US Mobile is offering offers unlimited inflight wifi service (without any data caps, limited to one designated-device every 30 days), provided by iPass, which partners with Gogo & Panasonic to grant access to wifi on flights.

The plan is valid for a period of 30 days from the date of activation and is prepaid. Once the 30 days are up, you’ll have to purchase another month, which is great because you don’t have to worry about recurring billing or pesky cancellation terms.

Here’s the airlines that you can access wifi with using your US Mobile unlimited wifi plan:

While there was a 40% off code floating around Reddit and other blogs at first, those codes are no longer valid. I reached out to US Mobile and asked if I could extend some other discount, and was told that I could only pass along a 10% savings (also capped), since there was a sudden overflow of registrants.

While my 10% savings offer (promo code ANGUSMWIFI) is certainly not as lucrative as an unlimited plan for $6, $9 is still a really generous deal to stay connected in flight for 30 days.

How to Register For the Unlimited Wifi Plan

First, purchase the wifi plan from www.usmobile.com/wifi. Don’t forget to use code ANGUSMWIFI in the promo code field to activate your savings.

Then you’ll have to link the plan to a device. If you’re linking your laptop, you can do so right after the purchase screen. Remember, you can only pick one device, and you cannot switch it until your 30 days are up.

You’ll need to download the Ipass app if you’re using a mobile device, and activate the plan with the provided code.

In the aircraft, check available wifi hotspots and connect. Another perk of this deal is that it seems to cover wifi hot spots on the ground too (coffee shops, hotels, etc.) – Can’t beat that!

Bottom Line

I personally think this is the best that it gets for inflight wifi. $9 a month for unlimited access across many airlines is unbeatable. Some single sessions alone price at over $20 for the duration of the flight.

What are your thoughts? Have you tried this plan in flight yet?a black and white text
