A few years back, I my family and I made the switch to T-Mobile, and we can all agree that it’s one of the best things we’ve done from a cost-savings perspective.
Not only do we pay more than 70% less monthly than our previous plan with Verizon, we get free global coverage in over 140+ countries, allowing everyone stay in touch while traveling. Aside from a great phone plan, there are just so many ways to reap in rewards (auto-pay discounts, kickback, free Gogo in-flight texting and internet, T-Mobile Tuesday, etc.). I’ll never stop raving!
Well, I just discovered and activated yet another awesome perk of T-Mobile – a free Netflix subscription, and I’ll show you how you can activate yours too!
Not too long ago, T-Mobile introduced Netflix On Us, which covers a $9.99 monthly standard Netflix plan, allowing you to stream up to two devices at once. You can also opt in for the premium $11.99 monthly plan, which covers 4 devices and Ultra HD. The $2 difference will be automatically billed to your T-Mobile account if you go that route.
If you already have a Netflix subscription, you can link your T-Mobile and Netflix accounts, and T-Mobile will cover the cost of the Netflix subscription.
To qualify for the “Netflix On Us” feature, you’ll need to be on a T-Mobile One family plan with taxes and fees included and at least two voice lines.
The following plans are not eligible for Netflix On Us:
- No Credit Check
- Prepaid
- T-Mobile @Work
- T-Mobile ONE Voice with a single line
- T-Mobile ONE 2 lines for $100 tax inclusive
- T-Mobile ONE Unlimited 55+ tax inclusive
- Any tax excluded plans
- Any Mobile Internet plans (including DIGITS, LineLink, and Wearable)
If you are on an eligible plan, you’ll have to manually opt-in to Netflix on Us in your T-Mobile account. To do so, you’ll have to go to “Plan” and then click “Change Services”.
Under Family and Entertainment, click the Fam with Netflix box, and you’ll then go through a few screens asking to confirm/review terms of service.
Then just like that, your Netflix subscription is good to go and ready to use right away!
Bottom Line
Linking my existing Netflix account to my T-Mobile account was easy, Â and it’s always nice when you can get extra surprise perks with your phone plan. So far, T-Mobile has never disappointed and I look forward to more to come!
