Unexpectedly Finding a $200 East Coast Resident Rate at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar

November 23, 2017 by Angelina Aucello 2 Comments

I recently shared my decision to book a last-minute getaway to the new Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in the Bahamas. In my original post, I was pretty surprised that I was able to find a fully-refundable rate of $227.50 per night during the busy holiday weekend.

Yesterday evening, as I was clicking around the resort’s website to try to see if there would be any Thanksgiving dinner specials, I stumbled across the offers page and noticed there was an “East Coast Resident Offer“. As a Jersey girl, this was right up my alley.

Out of curiosity, I plugged in the offer code, RESI, for my dates and saw a $200 per night rate populate!

Since my existing reservation was had a flexible 6pm day of arrival cancellation policy, I made the 4-minute call to Citi Prestige Concierge to cancel and rebook the reservation using the 4th night free benefit under the cheaper rate code. That unexpected finding not only made my day, but saved a little over $100.

I know many readers are planning on visiting the resort at some point in time, so I figured I’d share my finding to hopefully save other east-coast families some money when booking.

The offer is valid until December 10, 2017 for stays from 11/10/2017 through 03/21/2018. Identification with a government issued ID is required at check-in.

Bottom Line

Finding a surprise savings is always nice, and I hope someone else can make use of this great rate. Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels!

Hi, I visited Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. We had a great time but for me 4 nights would be too long and too expensive since I don’t have club access. It was a great place to visit for a couple nights. I love to gamble but those who don’t care for it might be very bored. I will be heading back next year but again just for a weekend. Have fun looking forward to the report.

[…] Our visit to this resort was during Thanksgiving, and we were surprisingly able to book such a reasonable cash rate at the last minute. […]
