United Mile Play: Book & Fly 3 United Flights in Economy – Get 14,000 Bonus Miles [Targeted]

December 6, 2017 by Angelina Aucello 5 Comments

I just got an interesting targeted offer in my inbox from United to introduce “Mile Play”, a new way to earn miles with United MileagePlus®.

While I have no idea if the bonus amounts vary between accounts, my offer was for 14,000 bonus miles for booking and taking 3 flights in United economy by January 12, 2018.

You can see if your account is targeted here.

The T&C states that flights must cost at least $225 to count, and award flights do not qualify. The flights do not have to be round trip.

Bottom Line

Overall, I think this is a nice surprise if you had some United travel lined up over the next few weeks, but it’s not exactly mileage-run worthy.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any up-coming travel planned during the promotional period. I checked to see if other members of my household were also eligible, but they were not.

Did you receive this same offer too?a black and white text

My offer was “Buy Economy Plus® 1 time by January 12, 2018 to get 900 bonus award miles”.

I’ve flown 8 segments on UA in the last two years and all 8 were paid domestic/Mexico business/first fares. Seems like they are really on the ball there :)

Tried two different accounts and neither was offered anything. Maybe next time.

My offer is for 3,200 bonus miles for one trip by Jan. 12. My travel for December and January was already booked, so this would force me to do a mileage run.

    1 time $275 11k miles. Assume these aren’t PQM.
Also, I’m at 67k PQM for 2017; is it worth an $835 mileage run to LA and back to hit make Platinum?
