It’s hard to believe that we are almost halfway through with 2018; as the years go on, they just seem to fly by.
Mother’s Day came and went just like that, and I hope you all had the chance to spend precious time with your children, parents, and families. As parents, it’s so easy to get caught up with caring for others that we will often forget about ourselves and how important it is to cultivate our own passions.
It’s just as easy, whether you’re a parent or not, to get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of work and your everyday routine that you forget to actually “live life.” That’s why I love partnering with American Express on their Live Life Moments campaign–it reminds us all that connecting with the ones you love is critical to enriching daily life and returning to work inspired and refreshed.
Even before children, travel has always been an integral component of my regular life, and now I put in the work to make travel a top priority for my family. Often we hear things like “Why travel when they’re so young that they can’t remember?†or “Just wait until they’re older – it’ll be easier and they’ll appreciate it.â€
Sadly, that’s a lot of waiting. There’s no such thing as the perfect moment, and like anything else, how enjoyable experiences are with your children has everything to do with the mindset you have as a parent and a human being in general.
If the will is there, even just a tiny sprinkle of inspiration, just go for it.
Bottom Line
I view my commitment to traveling with my family as a true investment in my happiness. I know traveling enhances my overall well-being. I thrive while traveling, so instead of saying goodbye to that part of me, sharing my passion with my kids is the greatest gift I can give them.
Continuing to indulge in the things that make my heart happy since becoming a mother will hopefully remind my children (especially my daughter) that you can have it all.Â
A few days ago I stumbled upon a great quote that struck a chord in me – to be in your children’s memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today. Make the moments count.
In 2018, I’m finally going to make time and take my kids along to fulfill a long-time aspiration of mine – showing up at the airport and hopping on a flight that I select right off of the departure board. Have you done that before?
Feel free to share how you take time to pause and truly live life – I’d love to hear!

Hi Angelina
I think this was a very inspirational post. I did appreciate ihe words and the reflection on the journey you have taken over the years. Thank you for sharing of your life experiences as you transitioned from single to married to parenthood over the years.
You have had a significant positive impact on the way my family travel.
In words similar to those of Douglas Adams author of “hitchhikers guide to the galaxy” So long and thanks for all the fish (miles).
Cheers

Oh, I love this! I’m pondering your departure board idea. Do you plan to use miles or just pay the rate day-of?
