If you haven’t already made plans to head down to Atlantic City, NJ this summer, it might be worth taking the trip just for all of the status matching and free room opportunities available!
There’s a lot of excitement to look forward to in Atlantic City this summer. Not only are Total Rewards properties in AC tier-matching to Diamond, there are also two much-anticipated resorts opening in just a few weeks on June 28.
The former Trump Taj Mahal will reopen as the Hard Rock Atlantic City (which is currently tier-matching and generously offering up to two free nights), and the former Revel will open as the Ocean Resort, which will be part of the Hyatt Unbound Collection.
While the Ocean Resort does not appear to be bookable on Hyatt.com yet, and we’re still unsure about the World of Hyatt redemption possibilities, elite benefits, and if they’ll be a reciprocal status match between the Ocean Premier loyalty program and World of Hyatt, the good news is that there will be an in-person tier-matching promotion with Atlantic City players cards this summer from June 28 – September 30, 2018.
M Life (Borgata) Gold and Total Rewards Diamond would match to Ocean Premier Platinum. M Life Platinum status would bring you to the highest level, Black. As a reminder, if you are Globalist with World of Hyatt, you can instantly match your status to M Life Gold.
Below you can see the benefits of the elite tiers at Ocean Resort, at the Platinum level, I’m most interested in the comps, free parking, no resort fees, and free show tickets.
Bottom Line
If you’re headed to the Atlantic City boardwalk this summer, be sure to stop by the Ocean Resort and tier-match if you qualify.
I am anxiously awaiting to hear more details about the Hyatt affiliation as well.
What are your thoughts? Will you be headed to AC this summer to take advantage of all of the status matching opportunities?

I’m comped at Hard Rock the 4th of July for the status match, and then comped for Mlife for Gold status at Borgata for the next two nights,

Nice! I’ll also be down in AC when you are. It’s so nice that so many free nights are an option during such a peak summer time.

I guess I don’t really have any thoughts.

After getting set for the one night at Hard Rock with MGM Gold I got an email. It said for MGM Gold I would get Rock Royalty status with two free nights plus $150 bonus free play, one buffet admission, etc,). I emailed the Player Development Executive (who had emailed me to introduce himself) and asked which was correct. He said I do get two nights, etc. for the MGM gold. It may be a YMMV situation.

Definitely visit the new Hard Rock 1st. Their status match is much more generous and will yield you a higher tier at the Ocean Resort.
