There are so many free night and status match opportunities happening in Atlantic City this summer, that it seriously may be worth a trip! Just to recap, here’s everything you need to know in one place:
Borgata – 2 Free Nights
Borgata recently joined M Life, but their booking systems are not yet fully integrated. With that in mind, if you have existing M Life Gold or Platinum status from the Hyatt reciprocal match, you’ll have to go and separately activate your Borgata M Life status.
After doing that, as a M Life Gold member, I saw I had several comped nights available in my account all summer long (even after staying for 2 free nights during Mother’s Day weekend)!
Hard Rock – Up to 2 Free Nights + Tier Match
The much anticipated Hard Rock Atlantic City is opening June 28 and is offering tier matching and up to two free nights (weekends too) if you have M Life or Total Rewards status. If you haven’t taken advantage of this opportunity yet, you can read all of the details here.
Additionally, casino hosts at this property are sending out emails with additional free night and resort credit offers, so keep an eye out on your inbox!
Total Rewards Properties – Free Night Voucher + Status Match
There are several Total Rewards properties in Atlantic City (Harrahs, Caesar’s, Bally’s), and now there’s an in-person opportunity to get matched to Total Rewards Diamonds with M Life Gold or higher status.
When I successfully status matched, I was handed a paper voucher good for a free night at any Total Rewards property (including Las Vegas).
Additionally, Total Rewards Diamond status does come with compelling benefits such as 4 free nights at The Atlantis, monthly show tickets in Las Vegas, and a $100 celebration dining voucher.
Don’t forget that you can instantly match your Total Rewards Diamond status to Wyndham Diamond status too.
Ocean Resort – Hyatt Unbound Collection – Status Match + Up to 2 Free Nights
I recently blogged that Hyatt’s new casino property in Atlantic City that’s also opening June 28 will be offering tier matching all summer long.
I also recently learned that the Ocean Resort will be a category 3 property, redeemable for only 12,000 Hyatt points per night, which is fantastic! You can now book free nights at this property on Hyatt.com.
I’m still waiting to hear about details regarding Hyatt elite benefits at this property such as upgrades, the free breakfast benefit, etc.
When the Ocean Resort was formally the Revel, I’ve seen room rates reach $700 on weekends and holidays, so when prices are high, this can be an amazing use of the category 1-4 annual free night certificate from the Hyatt credit card (learn more) or points.
Additionally, be sure to check your junk mail! My husband, who formally gambled at the Revel, received an offer of instant status, two complimentary nights, match play, and many other perks.
This gives me hope that the free nights will also be offered to others during their in-person matching promotion.
Bottom Line
As a Jersey girl, Atlantic City has always been a guilty pleasure of mine, so I’m delighted about all of these opportunities to have fun summer nights out on a dime.
Keep in mind that you can double the status and number of free nights this summer if your spouse/friend/significant other also qualifies for the status match and complimentary night opportunities.
If you’re headed to AC on a free night this summer, let me know in the comments – maybe we can organize an informal points and miles get together!

I booked two nights each at the Borgata & the Hard Rock based on your previous posts for July 19-23! Appreciate all the great info, looking forward to it.

I have MLife Platinum thanks to some Hyatt matches awhile back and was able to also give it to my husband after stopping by the MGM National Harbor Maryland. Now we have a reservation for two rooms for a weekend in August at the Hard Rock. Have you already redeemed yours? Do they mail you a Rock Royalty Wild Card in the mail or will we get one upon check in? I’ve been receiving offers with additional nights and resort credits and just wondering how to take advantage of those.
Lynn says
Lana: How did you give MLife Platinum to your husband? I also have it from status match and live near the National Harbor.
Lana says
I had Diamond Hyatt status back in the day that was matched to MLife Platinum and somehow remained Platinum for an extra year.

It’s a benefit of mlife to add your spouse to your account and share status. You earn status together but each have access. The spouse does not get gaming offers or certain other perks, but they do get a basic platinum status with most of the status perks.

Can I match my mLife Gold at any location, or does it have to be Atlantic City only?
Angelina Aucello says
Right now I only know of data points supporting the in person match in Atlantic City.
NinjaX says
Angelina, FYI, for those who have Hyatt status and have never touched Revel may want to wait for further clarification about the reciprocal status match between the Ocean Premier loyalty program and World of Hyatt. It could be better altho im sure its matched to Ocean Plat.
Currently, the Hyatt in-person tier-matching promotion in AC would only get you Ocean Plat. could be once lifetime only. IMHO its useless if Hyatt Glob will get Plat anyway. You do NOT get Hotel Resort Fees Waived, VIP Hotel Check-in, and Complimentary Suite Upgrades. Those are for BLACK only. Of course, Ocean Plat has some nice benefits too like free parking, free upgrades, and lounge access, but cmon. The resort fees suck dude.
Angelina Aucello says
Yes, I too will also wait to see if any reciprocal benefits come along. The black benefits are compelling and definitely better. Fingers crossed!
NinjaX says
oh yea. i didnt clarify. my comment is in ref to when you use Hyatt status to get M Life (Borgata) Gold and Total Rewards Diamond would match to Ocean Premier Platinum.
Abe says
Hi, thanks for the informative post.
If I have Mlife gold can I just activate my borgata account online and hopefully have free comp nights right away or do I need to go into the casino in person?
Angelina Aucello says
I saw the comp nights right away once I activated

Currently in AC. Was able to match my M Life gold to TR Diamond. Received the free night comp but it states just for AC harrahs, Caesars, or Ballys. Were you told you can use this for Las Vegas?
The rep told me it will take up to 30 days for the Diamond status and $100 dining credit reflect on the TR website. Currently TR.com still says I am a Gold.
I also matched my M Life gold to Hard Rock.
Received 2 nights free comp. Also to my surprise $150 slot free play and 2 free buffet or 2 Lounge access. Very Generous. Turned my $150 slot play to $250 on the Walking dead machine. Love that game.
Tim Li says
Also a side note, a little disappointed that the TR Diamond status expires 1/1/2019. Was expecting it to be good till 2020.
Jordan says
Did you wind up being able to use two more comp nights after you used it for Mothers Day weekend? Because it does show it is available as a comp even after you used it. Just curious
Angelina Aucello says
Hi Jordan, Yes I got several more comp nights after that.
