Last year, United introduced “Mile Playâ€, a new way to earn miles with United MileagePlus®.
I checked my email recently, and it looks like the offer is back again for targeted accounts, allowing select members to earn bonus miles by completing tasks between now and October 31, 2018.
As you can imagine, the offers vary greatly, ranging from just a few thousand bonus miles to the potential to accumulate massive amounts by flying.
Keep in mind that you’ll have to first register for the promotion, and only airfare purchased after the time you register will count towards the promotion. You can check to see if your account was targeted and register here.
I checked eligibility for everyone in my household, and only my account was targeted this time around.
My offer allows me to earn a total of 4,000 bonus miles if I book and take 3 trips ($200 minimum fare). This is not the greatest offer, but I do appreciate the opportunity to earn bonus miles if my plans over the next few weeks include United.
Bottom Line
Overall, I think this is a nice surprise if you had some United travel in the pipeline between now and Halloween.

to get 8,500 bonus award miles.
I got nothing. DH got “take one trip ($150) earn 6,000 bonus miles.” He’ll likely try to do it, as he’s short PQM for the year.
Angelina — Thanks! My husband and I received offers of 2,500 miles for one trip and 9.500 for two trips. Sure isn’t like the good ‘ole days, but better than nothing. We won’t be taking advantage of this offer. Once I reached 1 MM lifetime, we pretty much stopped flying United. Funny how that works, eh?
Got offered 3800 for one trip – hopefully it’s like last time, where after the first you get another…
Last time they had a promotion it was 4000 for one trip… then after that I was offered 5000 for another trip…. then after that I had another option for 8000 for another trip… Got 17000 for 3 trips I was going to take anyway…
I feel like I’m getting scammed…I have to book 5 premium cabin tickets (min $350) to earn 9,200 bonus miles…Really?! ♂️
