Barclays Arrival Plus Relaunches with a 70,000 Mile Sign-Up Bonus and Waived Annual Fee

The Barclaycard Arrival® Plus World Elite Mastercard® recently announced a limited-time 70,000 mile sign-up bonus with a waived $89 annual fee for the first year after spending $5,000 within the first 3 months of account opening.

This is the highest offer ever for this card, and after you meet the minimum spend requirement, you’d have enough for $800 worth of rewards that you can redeem towards travel.

The Barclaycard Arrival® Plus World Elite Mastercard®– key feature is that it earns 2% cash back on all purchases. Miles can be used towards statement credits, and if you redeem your miles for travel purchases, you’ll get 5% of them back, effectively making this a 2.1% cash back rewards card if you only redeem for travel purchases.

The minimum redemption is $100, and 10,000 points is worth $100. When redeemed for travel, the 70,000 mile sign-up bonus is worth ~$735. Arrivals Miles are not just limited to airline or hotel redemptions; instead, you can use your miles for all types of travel-rated purchases including theme park tickets, ferries, Uber / Left, rail passes etc. You can learn more about creative ways you can redeem your Arrivals Miles here.

In theory though, if you want to keep things simple, you can pay for a flight or take a weekend getaway with just one sign-up bonus.

Lufthansa First Class awards can sometimes come with high fuel surcharges. Arrivals miles can be used to cover taxes & fees on award tickets.

Bottom Line

The Barclaycard Arrival® Plus World Elite Mastercard® is a competitive cash back travel credit card because it earns 2% cash back on all purchases. 70,000 miles is worth ~$735 towards travel purchases.

Additionally, you can earn around $200 a month towards travel with the Barclays Travel Community. Similar to TripAdvisor (but with an added-incentive), the Barclays Travel Community is a unique way that you can earn free miles just for sharing your travel stories and tips. The Barclays Travel Community is open to everyone, but it is especially useful if you have an Arrivals card.
