I’ve had my Business Platinum Card® from American Express OPEN (learn more) for 5 years, and it’s a card I carry with me all the time.

Aside from the welcome bonus and some of the widely-known card features and benefits such as the transferability of Membership Rewards points to hotel and airline partners, hotel status, the $200 annual airline-fee credit, the Global Entry fee credit, Gogo wifi passes, and Centurion Lounge access (my favorite), there’s still quite a few perks that are not-so-talked about that keeps this card in my wallet year and after year, including a great way to save on paid business class flights.

As you may already know, the card’s annual fee is increasing to $595 in February 2019 with the addition of some new cardmember benefits.

The good news is that you can still get locked into the Business Platinum Card® (learn more) current $450 annual fee if you apply by tomorrow, January 30, 2019 by 9:59PM ET.

Right now the AmEx Business Platinum card offers a welcome bonus of 50,000 bonus points for spending $10,000 and additional 25,000 bonus points for spending another $10,000 within the first 3 months of account opening. The welcome bonus is only available to those who haven’t had this card before.

Bottom Line

If the Business Platinum Card® has been on your radar for some time, the time is now to get it to enjoy all of the new benefits coming in February 2019, while still only paying the $450 annual fee for the first year.

Yes, the spending requirement is high for the card, but I find that the card benefits alone are worth paying the annual fee itself.

What are your thoughts? Have you gotten the AmEx Business Platinum card before the annual fee increases in just a few days?
