W Hotels has two new changes that I’m personally very excited about. While I’ve always been a fan of the iconic W Hotels signature lemon+sage bliss products, W Hotels has announced that they are revamping their in-room amenities to offer guests an elevated line of sustainable skin and hair care with an all-new, on-the-road regimen from Italy-based Davines Group.
The new luxury lineup includes:
- Davines MOMO Shampoo
- Davines MOMO Conditioner
- Davines MOMO Shower Gel (W Exclusive)
- /skin regimen/ Body Cream (W Exclusive)
- /skin regimen/ Cleansing Cream
- /skin regimen/ Vegetable Soap (W Exclusive)
The rollout is first kicking off at all W Hotels in North America with three best-selling unisex Davines products (sulphate- and paraben-free) and three W-exclusive formulas, soon to be available in every W room and suite across the country.
In addition to being the in-room and in-suite brand of choice at W hotels globally, /skin regimen/ and Davines products will also be used at all W Away Spas starting in 2020 alongside sister brand, [ comfort zone ]. W also plans to offer the new amenities in waste-reducing, full-size bottles by the end of 2020.
I personally have been a huge fan of Davines since receiving a shampoo sample in my Birchbox way back in 2012 and really became hooked. It will be a treat to use the products at W Hotels, and I would love to take home a few mini bottles to use at home and while traveling before the switch to full-sized bottles is made. All items are now for sale online at W Hotels The Store (the travel set listed below is on sale for $74.40, whoa).
Rent The Runway
Another new partnership that I’m excited about is the recent W Hotels and Rent the Runway partnership. As of Dec. 5, W guests are now able to book a stay at W Aspen, W South Beach, W Washington D.C. or W Hollywood and get Rent the Runway collections delivered straight to their hotel rooms. This is a cool way for women (sorry fellas) to arrive to a vacation with fresh wardrobe additions waiting for you right in your hotel room!
Upon booking a room, W Hotel guests are able to choose four “destination-ready” styles to rent for their stay from Rent the Runway’s Unlimited Closet for only $69. Guests have access to the entire Unlimited Closet in addition to being able to select from an assortment tailored to each participating unique W hotel location. To return the wardrobe, guests simply drop-off the items at the Welcome Desk at check-out.
This partnership opens up a whole other level of opportunity – especially if you’re headed somewhere requiring bulky (winter) or out-of-season (summer dresses) wardrobe, or if you just want a fresh look for pictures.
Another thought that comes to mind is the fact that I just returned from South Beach thanks to Frontier Airlines’ $15 introductory fares between Newark and Miami (I was limited to just a small personal item onboard); this would have been a cool opportunity to give the W Hotels/Rent The Runway partnership a try if I had been staying at W South Beach!
Bottom Line
My travels generally do not include many W Hotels, but it’s nice to see progressive change to the guest experience. Davines makes excellent salon-quality products and traveling without having to shop for new outfits has always been a dream of mine, so the integration of Rent The Runway is certainly a very appealing step in the right direction, and I hope it continues to expand.
What are your thoughts about these new changes?
