United introduced “Mile Playâ€, a new way to earn miles with United MileagePlus® back in 2017, and the promotion seems to return several times per year.
As I was browsing my United app, it looks like the offer is back again for targeted accounts, allowing select members to earn bonus miles by completing tasks between now and May 10, 2020.
As you can imagine, the offers vary greatly, ranging from just a few thousand bonus miles to the potential to accumulate massive amounts by flying.
Keep in mind that you’ll have to first register for the promotion, and only airfare purchased after the time you register will count towards the promotion. You can check to see if your account was targeted and register here.
My current offer is generous as it allows me to earn 9,000 bonus miles if I book and take 1 trip with a $225 minimum purchased fare during the promotional period. A friend of mine received an offer to earn 22,000 bonus miles after taking 2 trips ($225 minimum).
As always, I checked eligibility for everyone in my household, and I was the only one eligible for MilePlay this time around.
Bottom Line
My offer is pretty attractive considering that it’s certain that I will have at least United flight before May 10, and it’s nice way to earn bonus miles on flights I will be taking anyway.

Book and take a trip 4 times to get….wait for it…2,500 bonus miles. Min purchase of $200/flight. What a joke.
Book and take three trips of $400 minimum to get 3600 bonus miles. Another big joke.
I have the United Explorer Card, and I received an offer for 2,500 bonus points after taking one trip costing $150.
