World of Hyatt Cardmembers Can Earn an Easy 5,000 Bonus Points Just By Using Card in February

I’ve been a Hyatt credit card holder (the old version, of course) since 2012, and it was always a card I happily paid the annual fee for year after year because the category 1-4 annual free night certificate was more than worth the $75 annual fee. The old version of the Hyatt credit card is no longer open to new applicants.

In the summer of 2018, I canceled my old Hyatt credit card and applied for the new World of Hyatt Credit Card, and it’s still a staple card in my wallet that’s well worth paying the annual fee.

Hyatt has been very generous with their recent promotions including the current Bonus Journeys global promotion, up to 25% rebate on redeemed awards for Hyatt Credit cardholders, and reduction of its 2021 elite qualification requirements.

Today, Hyatt announced another promotion that’s a no-brainer way to earn extra points if you’re already using the Hyatt Credit Card on a regular basis.

During the month of February, World of Hyatt Cardmembers can earn up to 5,000 Bonus Points on purchases over $1 between February 1 through February 28, 2021. Bonus Points earned will be based on the following number of eligible transactions made during the month of February:

• 10 transactions = 1,000 Bonus Points
• 25 transactions = 2,500 Bonus Points
• 50+ transactions = 5,000 Bonus Points

Cardmembers must register for the offer between January 28 and February 28, 2021, and any qualifying card purchase made between February 1 and February 28, 2021 will count as an eligible transaction as long as cardmembers register for the offer by February 28, 2021.

For the purpose of this offer, an eligible transaction includes card payment made with Swipe, Contactless, Tap and Pay, Apple Pay, Digital Wallet, reoccurring transactions, and more.

Bottom Line

In short, if you made 50 purchases as little as $1.01 a piece, you’d earn the 5,000 bonus points, enough for a free night at a Category 1 property.

Of course, I wouldn’t necessary recommend bending over backwards to use the card 50 times, but if you’re a regular spender, it may be worth it to be mindful of the number of transactions made in February.
