I Got a Random Free Gift from United – How About You?

March 18, 2014 by Angelina Aucello 8 Comments

I love unexpected pleasant surprises from airlines in my inbox (like my free Platinum status from American Airlines a few months ago).

Just a few moments ago, I opened an email from United offering me the choice of a Regional Premier Upgrade certificate or 2 United Club Lounge passes, along with the opportunity to earn double miles on all qualifying round trip flights between April 1 and June 30.

They must be feeling my cabin fever and flight withdrawals – the last time I stepped foot on a plane was on December 8!

The catch? Nothing. All I have to do is register by April 30, 2014, and I will see them in my account within 7–10 days. How nice!

I assume this offer is targeted, but I am curious to see if anyone else received this same email or a different variant of this offer?

Oh, and I will be choosing the RPU.

Let me know what you received!

I just received triple miles on all United flights between 1 April and 30 June. U or higher fare class. Excludes gov fares (my employer and who buys my flights…) Too bad.

Nothing from United but I don’t hardly ever fly them. I did get a double points offer from Amtrak. Maybe someone is telling me something?

Got the same offer. Apparently it was a thank you for reviewing my recent flight. Definitely took the extra RPU. Actually a really nice gift.

Nothing – as usual – for those of us outside the US.

Wonder if it has anything to do with your blog? Seems like an easy way to get you to post about United and it seems to have worked!
