Woohoo!I am so thrilled that I received an email in my inbox today from Uber letting me know that UberX finally arrived in Miami. I learned the hard way last month that Uber was not available in the state of Florida when I landed at FLL and tried to request an Uber to my hotel in South Beach.
I booked a last-minute trip to South Beach to visit friends and my original plan was to use some of my Uber credits while down there. Instead, I ended up having to pay $80 for a cab.
Since UberX is now live in Miami, they are offering free rides (from now to June 20, 5 free rides up to $40) to celebrate the launch.
I personally love Uber and use it all the time locally in NY and when I travel. Mr. Points Traveler saves his Uber rides for special occasions.
