There seems to be a lot of hot Amazon deals lately. Yesterday I shared a lucrative way to receive 5,000 Membership Rewards points by purchasing Amazon Prime. Speaking of Membership Rewards points, today an offer surfaced where you can save 20% on an Amazon purchase just by redeeming one Membership Rewards point.
The offer is valid for 20% off of a purchase of up to $250, which means you can save up to $50.
The offer is targeted though, so to take advantage, you’ll have to first link your AmEx card to your Amazon account, and then check to see if you are eligible for this offer.
Then, you can shop at Amazon and purchase $250 worth of merchandise that is sold & shipped by Amazon.com). The $250 limit for the 20% discount does not have to be used in a single shot – you can make a total of $250 in purchases from now until October 23. Merchant gift cards do not qualify for this discount. On the payment page, simply use 1 point to activate the savings.
Bottom Line
This is a great opportunity to stock up on household items that you would normally purchase on Amazon anyway (laundry detergent, paper towels, etc.).
Keep in mind that you can also stack this offer and earn 20 “Drop†points per dollar spent on Amazon purchases when you connect your credit card accounts with the Drop app (related post).
What are you buying on Amazon today?

What about stacking with Amazon Prime 5,000 MR points? Could I get the 5k and 20% off for a total of ~$79 + 1MR point?
I don’t think you can stack this as the 20% off applies to physical items sold and shipped by amazon. Also- the t&c for the 5k MR says that discounted prime memberships are excluded. :(. Still two very great deals!
