Use Wyndham Rewards Points in Las Vegas

February 26, 2018 by Angelina Aucello 10 Comments

With ZorkFest Las Vegas approaching (really hope you can join!), here’s an idea to keep in mind to save tremendously on Las Vegas hotels, especially during holidays, weekends, and peak summer travel.

Wyndham Rewards and Caesar’s Entertainment Total Rewards announced a partnership in 2017. With Wyndham’s new and improved Wyndham Rewards program, where all free nights are just 15,000 points per night, Las Vegas redemptions are something to keep in mind.

I just booked my Memorial Day Weekend stay in Las Vegas using Wyndham points. With rates in the $300-$450 range that weekend, redeeming 15,000 points per night was a fantastic value.

Unfortunately, the only bad news is that resort fees are still applicable for Las Vegas properties on “Go Free Awards”, but YMMV asking the property to waive them at checkout.

Below is an example of two Total Rewards properties available using just 15,000 Wyndham Rewards points per night on Sunday May 27. Other desirable properties on the Las Vegas strip include Paris Las Vegas, The LINQ, and Planet Hollywood.

New Promotion: Stay Twice, Earn a Free Night (15K points) – Cheap and Easy Way to Free Nights

Wyndham currently has a great promotion happening now through June 30th (stays must be completed by July 1), where members can earn 15,000 bonus points, in addition to any points normally earned, after completing two separate stays at any Wyndham Rewards hotel.

With Wyndham stays (aka Travelodge) costing as low as $27-35 in some US cities, I’d consider this promotion worth mattress-running for, especially for future Las Vegas stays. You could essentially “stay” twice for less than $75 total to generate the 15,000 bonus points.

Registration is required in advance of first stay.

Additionally, Wyndham Rewards members can now save 10% off the best available rate (does not require pre-payment) at all Wyndham Rewards hotels globally when they book direct, through a preferred corporate travel partner or an approved travel agent. This savings is applicable to the stays needed for the promotion to earn 15,000 bonus points.

Bottom Line

Vegas hotels can be expensive during the high season, and it’s nice to know that there are free night options available. During my last visit to Las Vegas, I was able to use my annual free night from my IHG Rewards MasterCard for a free night at the Palazzo. It’s good to know that Wyndham points can be another fantastic alternative.

Have you used Wyndham Rewards points at Caesar’s Entertainment Total Rewards properties?

Not a bad deal. I’ll be in Albany NY, where there is a good HoJo that I’ve stayed at before. Easy peasy.

That’s great – always best when you can actually make use of a Wyndham stay during the promotion!

So if you are Hyatt Explorist or Globalist, match to Mlife Gold. I’m sure many of ur readers have those Hyatt status. TR will match Mlife Gold right now to Diamond. Resort fee problem solved + free parking! Can also now head into the Diamond lounge while in Vegas if you have enough TR rewards. If you don’t have TR rewards, match ur TR Diamond to Wyndham Diamond and transfer Wyndham points to TR. Hello Diamond lounge which will save a ton of $’s on food & drink. Wyndham Diamond when booking TR properties in Vegas get’s you a suite.

Which offer? There are numerous matches. Also, once you are TR Diamond, you will get free stay offers most likely, especially during weekdays.

Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention. Unfortunately it looks like as of Feb 1, 2018, they are only matching M Life Platinum or Noir :( https://www.caesars.com/content/cet-global/caesars-com/total-rewards/promotions/diamond-tier-upgrade.html

I don’t even think last year, when there was also a status match from Mlife to TR, was Mlife Gold able to match to anything but Platinum.

Hey Angelina…I’m trying to book either of these hotels in early December. I’m not finding any availability. That seems unlikely to me. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Hmm that is strange. I just did a dummy search for Dec 20-21 and found availability at 26 Vegas properties. Make sure when you search at Wyndham.com, you select “Use Rewards Points” under the rate.
