American Express launched a new integration with Walmart.com today, allowing card members to use points towards purchases, and the ability to earn an extra 2 Membership Rewards points per dollar spent online at Walmart.com when using Amex Express Checkout from now through August 30.
This is an amazing promotion to take advantage of this summer if you regularly shop online at Walmart.

Keep in mind that the additional 2x Membership Rewards is also stackable with the miles or points you’d earn by shopping through an online shopping portal, and many airlines are offering bonus miles during this time period too.
How to Use Amex Express Checkout
- During checkout on Walmart.com desktop, mobile web or mobile app (iOS and Android) select Amex Express Checkout under the + More tab under payment methods
- Enter your AmericanExpress.com UserID and Password
- Your billing and Card information will be auto-filled in the designated fields, so just confirm and complete your order
Bottom Line
I think this is a very generous summer promotion from American Express to allow you to generate extra points on purchases at Walmart. Since back to school is right around the corner, you can maximize your earnings with your favorite airline shopping portal as well.
