United introduced “Mile Playâ€, a new way to earn miles with United MileagePlus® back in 2017, and the promotion appears frequently from the time to time.
As I was browsing my United app, it looks like the offer is back again for targeted accounts, allowing select members to earn bonus miles by completing tasks between now and May 15, 2019.
As you can imagine, the offers vary greatly, ranging from just a few thousand bonus miles to the potential to accumulate massive amounts by flying.
Keep in mind that you’ll have to first register for the promotion, and only airfare purchased after the time you register will count towards the promotion. You can check to see if your account was targeted and register here.
My offer allows me to earn a total of 2,500 bonus miles if I book and take 3 trips to or from EWR ($225 minimum fare).
I checked eligibility for everyone in my household, and my son got a better offer than I did (6,500 bonus miles after taking 3 trips at a minimum of $200 each).
Bottom Line
While my offer is way weaker than what I’ve received the past, it’s still a nice way to earn bonus miles on flights I probably will end up taking from Newark over the next few weeks. I certainly will not be going out of my way though.

I got fly 1 premium cabin flight ($700+) get 11,500 miles. I currently have a ORD-CUN 1 way business class flight but need to book the return. If I call them and have them turn that into a roundtrip ticket will the new R/T itinerary count…even though it was previously booked? Thanks!

Thanks! Didn’t even notice this one, since just finished a “three-event” one from before for 3K miles. This one is the same, but it’s already paid 500 miles for a quick order on the MPX app; two events to go.
